My Carry-On Packing List

So I've already done a post about what I'm putting in my suitcase for this UK trip but I haven't done one for what I'm taking on the plane and as I'm currently doing that right now what a better time to write this and post it than 2 am. Whoo hoo. I am more productive at night though which kinda sucks but I'm hoping then maybe if I'm exhausted I'll finally sleep on the plane. Yeah let's hope that adds up.

Anyway I was originally planning on using my navy blue backpack but that got mildew and I didn't want to use it because that just feels a bit sketchy to me. As I had to buy a magazine anyway I went to Payless and bought a bag I had seen the last time I was there. I had been eyeing it for a while and along with the fact that my friend said it suited me it was also on sale so I was like YES.

It's a black faux leather backpack and I apologise if the picture quality is bad because I'm using my laptop camera; it's just so much faster.

It has the 2 small front pockets and then a bigger section that is pretty square but it can hold a lot as you're about to find out.

I originally had a large notebook in here but then I wanted to put more snacks so I had to use a smaller notebook and pack the other one in my suitcase.

So first off I have a magazine, a notebook and my pencil case. Usually I would just take a magazine with me but I'll be playing the Sims 4 on my laptop so I have some controls (and cheats) written in the notebook for if I forget.

Then I have my liquids bag and because I would have packed my handbag in my suitcase I just put all the liquids in one bag instead of my (#1, #2 and #3) system I had going previously. The products I have in here are Vanilla body spray, Vanilla hand cream, strawberry hand sanitizer, mouthwash and a lip gloss. I decided my scent was going to be vanilla on this trip, it makes everything a lot more connected but I had already bought the hand sanitizer.

Next up are my warm stuff. I have my plaid pyjama pants to put over my leggings so I'll be more comfy on the plane. I also have a purple/blue knitted beanie that my mum made in case it's cold when we arrive. The grey socks are past air plane socks which I will be wearing around the plane and I have 2 gloves to prepare for the cold.

The lime green and black ones are fingerless so I can still use my [touch screen] phone when they are on.

These brown ones don't fit my hands perfectly but will keep them warm especially as my fingers get so cold.

After the warm clothes I have other in case/vital supplies. An empty water bottle because you can't take water through security. A bag of various medications/plasters. A chapstick and minty stick that you smell when your nose is blocked (clearly I couldn't find a word for it). A packet of tic tacs, a packet of tissues and a packet of pads. I'm sorry if the pads make you feel uncomfortable but I am a girl and I'm not going to deny normal body functions, even to the internet.

Then I got the "beauty" stuff. A compact mirror (with kitties on it, it's so cute), my comb, my nail file and my make up bag.

Then I've got my purse & coin purse, my phone and that pink floral pouch is where I'm going to put my headphones so they don't get tangled up in everything; like usual.

And here are the snacks. If you think it looks like a lot for just a plane flight, remember that it's at least 9 hours and if I don't sleep I'll be eating....CONSTANTLY. So I've got some sour gummy rainbows, gummy dinosaurs, York pieces, M&Ms, Goldfish (colourful), some tornado chips and zoomers which will get stuck in my braces but tastes so good so it doesn't matter.

I also have my jewellery bag but I got too tired to take a picture of it. I just packed a bracelet, some rings (like maybe 6) and I'll be wearing a necklace and 1 ring.

I'm so exhausted because it's about 3 am and I finally want to be asleep but I went through with this post so I'm happy about that. :)

Sooooooo.....that's it! (almost fell asleep there)
Nitey Nite or Good Morning.

Dying my hair with Kool Aid

I had been thinking about dip-dying my hair red for a while now but this wasn't considered the "real deal" until it actually came out. I used Cherry flavour because my mum saw a tutorial on-line that said the Cherry and Dark Cherry weren't that different. This was just an experiment and we never thought it would come out as good as it did. So I boiled a cup full of water in the kettle and then poured it into a travel mug because I figured that would be easy to hold (like not burning my hands). I poured the whole packet of kool aid into the water and stirred it around for it to dissolve.
Then I parted my hair and tied my hair to what length I wanted to be dip-dyed. Once it had dissolved and my hair was secured I timed 15 minutes and soaked my hair in the cup of boiling kool aid.

It was quite boring actually. But the results were incredible, as soon as I took out my hair you could see it was red. Because we knew that the colour was going to run, as soon as I took out one side I would rinse it in a glass of water and dry it off with a paper towel so that it wouldn't drip all over everything. After drying each side I took them out the hair-ties and washed/combed out my hair under the sink.

What a nice action shot. Anyway here's what my hair looked like after I had washed it.

The we let out my hair and my mum blow dried it for me. And boy did it look nice.

So naturally I went and had a photo-shoot in my garden because that's what they do, those beauty gurus.

My hair is actually in a pony tail here.

My Teddy loved being a prop <3

I did this a few months ago and I was originally waiting till I got back from the beach to update you on how it lasted but then I forgot about it. So it did run and it ran onto my clothing but luckily the red came out my clothes so it didn't stain. The colour has stayed in my hair, although one side has faded faster than the other it's still there and it's really made me want to dye my whole head. I know that some people won't be supportive of this but I've been wanting to do it for a while and I figured now would be a good time to dye my hair. I no longer have anything tying me down that would restrict my hair not being it's natural colour like school or work so you can look out for that next.

Nitey Nite or Good Morning.

What Has Been Consuming My Thoughts Lately

I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing that I'm writing this as I'm feeling it but I'm going to do it anyway. Now for another high school graduate they may be thinking about college or work, but NO. Not me.

The VMAs were a few nights ago (maybe?) and I didn't watch it 1. Because I wasn't aware it was happening and 2. I don't watch award shows so I didn't care. However after it happened I kept hearing all these reviews and basically it was the best VMAs yet, so naturally I booked a time to watch it. Luckily they are showing re-runs all week because there was nothing on-line. But while I was on-line I noticed that the new Pretty Little Liars was on tonight and that it was gonna be big. My relationship with PLL is strange. I didn't really care for it when it was popular back in 2010, or whenever that was, but when season 4 was coming to an end it was getting exciting so I started watching the end of season 4 and the start of season 5. And I didn't understand most things so I decided to watch from season 1. I just finished season 2 btw. But I'm still watching season 5 episodes so I started trying to find out where to watch tonight's episode.

Long story short I followed the show on twitter and then found it on-line many hours later. In between watching the VMAs I watched the new episode of PLL. It was quite something for my emotions. Let's start with PLL. Mona was killed by a girl with blonde hair after finding out proof that Alison is A. Well I cried, even though I knew it was coming. Then I cried more because I watched Beyonce's performance and her speech and everything. And then I was (not really) scarred for life by seeing Mona's dead body; like did she REALLY have to have her eyes open?!? And did the camera need to ZOOM IN ON IT?!?

Onto more normal things; on Monday I couldn't remember whether it was Monday or Tuesday and frankly I was so happy about that. I think it was mainly because after so many years of school this was the first time I was not only happy on a Monday but didn't hate it.

I loved Taylor Swift's performance and Sam Smith's performance was something I enjoyed as well. I think that Nicki Minaj handled her Bang Bang performance really well. We all know what I'm talking about and if you don't then I'm sure you'll hear about it in the recaps.

I'm going to the U.K. for October and I know that I'll be taking lots of buses and walking everywhere so at the beginning of the year when I found out about this (not really January, I'm just estimating) I decided I should start exercising because let's be real, that's not something I do. Walking up and down the stairs in my house is the most exercise I get. And now it's about a month away from October and every day that passes I think," I still haven't done anything". And I'll probably reach England and be like," Why didn't I do anything?" orrrrrr I'm gonna be fitter than I thought I was and be fine; yeah let's go with that.

Nitey Nite or Good Morning.

Sharpie Art Fail

Quite a while ago I bought a plate and did a sort of doodle design on it in black sharpie. It was only today that I finally baked it. Set the oven at 350 degrees, put the timer for 30 minutes and went back to my laptop. Then I suddenly heard a popping sound coming from none other than the oven. You know, the place I had just put the PLATE in. Well I had never known what would happen during the baking so I ignored the first pop. But then they started coming more frequently and I started getting a bad feeling. Was my oven gonna expload?!?

Long story short, I called my mum upstairs and she was like yeah that's not supposed to be happening. She turned off the oven and took the plate out and we saw that the top of the plate had started flaking off. At this point in time I started doubting everything I had done prior to this. None of the posts I had seen telling you how to do the DIY ever specified what KIND of plate to use. And I had seen a post that said it was great because the mugs weren't breakable so I figured oh you use plastic.

 Bottom of the plate

Top of the plate

So I googled sharpie art plates exploding and only then did posts come up saying what kind of plates to use. Porcelain. Or just anything ceramic. And you know, I had wondered if it was safe to bake plastic as I thought it would start melting, but I did it anyway. And so here is a blog post about what NOT to do. Because I couldn't find any of my own.

 Nitey Nite or Good Morning.

Packing for an Autumn vacation in England

So let's just skim over the fact that I haven't posted anything in more than a month and go straight to the reason I am finally here; I'm trying to write things in the heat of the moment and not just think about writing it down. So I am going to England and Scotland in October and I have started packing already. Yes you can laugh or think that I've officially gone crazy but I do have a valid reason why. You see I like being organised and knowing I have everything I need. However when I am packing I always feel like I have forgotten something and it drives me crazy, so I have started making incredibly detailed lists of every single item I put into my suitcase and carry on. To some people this may not seem necessary but it does make me feel better and calms most of my nerves.

So I started by choosing a suitcase. Small, medium or large. I took the medium because it forces me to pack smaller but I still have enough space for my bulky sweaters. Then I throw all the clothes I think I will need onto my bed, next to the suitcase. Because it's autumn I will need warmer clothing and although I need a lot, I don't want to over pack. And I always over pack. So here I begin thinning down. I pick up each piece of clothing and think whether or not I want to pack it. But I don't really think about it; I look at it and make my decision in a second. The things I want to keep I put in the suitcase and then I have a maybe pile which I will either go through later by myself or with my mum. The things I don't want will be thrown into my closet. And then when I've done the same with the maybe pile I will go through what I put in my suitcase and see if I really need everything in there. Just constantly thinning down.

To start planning my list I put down general items that I would like to take with me. And because I haven't been to England in Autumn I have gone through Google to see what other people have packed. And it was basically the same things I was thinking about so here's my almost finished packing list:

Basic Clothing
-Underwear, socks, tights*
-Tops; thin strap, 3/4 quarter sleeve, T-shirts
-Bottoms; skirts, leggings, jeans, sweatpants
-PJ bottoms + tops
-Jackets + sweaters
-Shoes; boots, flats, heels
-Dresses; long, short, high low

*tights are a great way to keep a little warmer when wearing a dress or a skirt

Toiletries
-Perfume + body spray;
-Deodorant;
-Braces gear
-Tooth paste
-Tooth brush + extra (because I use a specific kind for my braces)
-Brush + comb
-Make-up remover
-Face wash + moisturiser
-Vaseline lotion
-Vaseline large + small
-cotton pads
-razor
-hair cream/spray

Technology
-Laptop + charger + case
-Phone charger with British connector + bright green cleaning rag
-Both phones + headphones

Comfort Items
-Bedroom slippers
-Plasters, painkillers, etc.
-Nail clippers + scissors
-Hand sanitizer**
-Neck pillow
-Umbrella
-Nail polish
-Make-up

**Make sure it is travel sized if you are taking in your carry-on

Extra Points/Organisation Strategies
-Plastic Ziplock bags #1
-#2
-#3(make-up)
-Purse; general day-to-day + fancy dinner
-Bigger bags; carry-on, handbag
-Pack all your clothes first and then put shoes down the sides of your suitcase to save space

Should I? Should I Not?
-Sneakers?
-Shampoo & Conditioner?
-Sun screen?
-Shorts?

This is still an edited list to my other one to make it appropriate to be on-line but my final layout will have an exact description of every item. Imagine everything listed above like this:

-purple plaid shirt
-black leggings x2
-navy blue waterproof
-black ankle boots
-nail polish; black and pinky-red
-dark grey denim bag

And as well as having it on my phone, I will have a backup list on my laptop because it will be coming with me. Going through all this does still make me have mixed emotions like feeling annoyed that I have to go through all this but it works out well because I know everything is as it should be and I am not stressed about forgetting something important.

If you took something away from this then I congratulate you. I am going to look through my toiletries. Hopefully it won't be another month before I post again. If you think I missed out anything you can tell me in the comments or if you have any essentials of your own.

 Nitey Nite or Good Morning.

Clothes Shopping

This is such a wide topic, I don't know where to begin and that excites me because 1. We will be discussing something I love and 2. I get to make a list so I don't miss anything out and I know where to begin (also I like making lists).  I feel like clothes shopping has a deeper connection than people realize because what you wear is a form of expression. An expression of who you are and what you stand for. Also it's a way for people to judge you. This could be positive but I feel that it is usually negative.

I think when I was younger (like 3 years ago) I used to care a lot about what people thought about me but now I like to say I don't care but I think I always will care, even if it is just a small amount. People tend to say when you are a teenager you are changing and that's the time you find yourself and who you are and I agree but I think you continue learning new things about yourself every time you are faced with something new; whether negative or positive. And I feel like your clothing style is the same kind of thing. When you are a teenager you don't usually have to have professional work clothes, so as a person gets older their style gets more refined.

So when it comes to shopping, how do you shop? Do you just go browsing around stores or only shop when you need something? Do you shop on-line or in store? I think when it comes to shoes, I prefer to shop in store but recently I bought 3 pairs of jeans in the same brand and size but all 3 fit differently. Now this could have just been that someone tried it on who wasn't the correct size and stretched it out but there are some things that don't stretch that easily and are still different. But I am continuously browsing on-line and you can see that on http://www.fashiolista.com/style/kissmarshmellow/ .

So when I was like 10-12 years old I would shop in the boys section and I had stopped because I thought people would think that was strange or weird but I started back and it isn't like everything in my closet is from the men's department so I don't care if someone thinks it is weird. I recently (yesterday) went on-line at http://www.topman.com/ and found things I liked and probably would have bought if only I was in store. So I'm putting up pictures of a few of the things I liked so you would see that it is perfectly normal for a female to be shopping in a male department.

99% cotton. That's like the definition of love to me.

It's a phone case. But I can't find ones like this in the female department.

I love this ring but it probably won't fit me, though if it did I would buy it.

I don't like boys with earrings but I like these earrings.

Basically in the men's department I look at the hoodies and jewellery because they are simple and plain and sometimes I want that. Actually I always want that but if I look for dark coloured items in the female department they are usually classified under "sexy" or "emo". There is no way you can stereotype the clothes I shop for. Unless random is a stereotype. Today I was on this website - http://www.29nunder.com/ - and I really like this website but I haven't actually purchased anything so I don't know about the quality of the clothing. But here are some things (not from the male department) I would have bought.

I don't have anything like it but I think I would use it with my lighter dresses.

Comfort level is on HIGH. I have an obsession with sweaters and this colour (burgundy/berry).

Different to my previous phone case, isn't it?

Mint green and floral and flowy. Looks good with both brown & black as a base colour.

Basically when looking to buy something I ask myself if it would look good with either black or brown as a base colour. I don't tend to mix black and brown, like red and pink or green and blue. I also ask myself when I would use it. I have bought things that I hardly ever use and I tend to feel very guilty but I do it without realizing and so I think A LOT before buying a clothing item. Especially when it's too expensive. But there's something else; how much is too much to spend on something? The only time I will buy something expensive (in my terms) is when I know I will use it at least once every week or everyday for a season.

I'm not one to follow main stream style so when shopping for clothes I usually pick and choose. I have been looking for decent length shorts for years but because the trend has been really short shorts I haven't been able to find any. I live on a tropical island and I want to be able to wear shorts out to like the grocery or something and feel comfortable but I can't do that so whenever I go out I put on jeans and that's annoying. Also, something that can jeopardize shopping for clothes is if you want something in the wrong season. So when I go to England in October I won't be able to look for shorts because it will be autumn and cold, even though it will be warm in the Caribbean.

When shopping for clothes something I do frequently is look at the material it is made from. My legs are really sensitive so I can only wear jeans with like 75% + cotton in them, not denim. And then I tend to buy my clothes from away (not Trinidad) and the material can sometimes be too hot for Trinidad but okay in say Florida. Which is funny since I consider them both to be hot countries.

Clothes shopping is a lot more than just liking the article of clothing, at least for me. But once you know the basics of what you like from the piece of clothing then it should really be easy. If this post helped you in anyway then congrats and I'm sorry for the lateness. Let me throw in a disclaimer : I wasn't paid to say nice things about the company/brands talked about above, I put them in because they were valid examples and I liked them.

Social Media Websites

I hate it that I can't just slap something together. Anyway since I'm probably a few days late I'll cut to the chase. Ooh my tea has boiled, hold on *sets down laptop*. Ok so social media has a large impact on people because you can find out things about people who live no where near you. It also means some people are just dying to get popular (instagram). So I've researched the most popular social media sites of 2014 and I'll say my thoughts on them. *If I offend you I'm sorry; I didn't think I would.

Facebook
I only really use Facebook for talking to people that don't live in Trinidad (where I live). I used to be really big on playing the games on Facebook and sometimes stalking people but I no longer have the need for that; so sad. And also I have Instagram.

Twitter
I know people really like this but I just don't use it any more. I don't really know why. Just kinda faded away.

Linkedin
I don't know what this is so I don't use it.

Pinterest
I started using this but right now I don't have any need for it. Might use it when I'm out of school. I like crafty things. I'm pretty sure I've pinned things already.

Google +
So I have this, because that's what my blog is connected to, I think but obviously I don't use it often or I might have known more. I know I use Google a lot for school.

Tumblr
So I joined Tumblr a while ago and got terrified of it. Even when typing in normal things some suspicious things come up and I just exit the tab; I'm just so done with it, like no, none of that. But despite that I've rejoined and so far the cost is clear and I think I actually might like it. We'll see how that goes.

Instagram
So I use this a lot now. I think I've joined about 3 times maybe but I finally like my user name, although it's a bit strange (@kissmarshmellow) so things have been good. I follow a bunch of youtuber fan pages and cheerleaders which I don't really understand how I came to that but I think what they do is amazing because I definitely can't do any of that. I also like posting pictures of my hair; when it looks all right. I think this is the most used app on my phone because I watch Youtube on my laptop so the screen is bigger.

VK
I have no clue what this is. *takes a second to Google it*. I've concluded that it is like Facebook. So I'm not going to use it.

Flickr
I think I have used this once. YouTube takes up most of my time.

MySpace
I didn't think anyone still used this. Glad to know it didn't disappear completely. 40 million people on it, good job. But I'm not one of them.

Tagged
*back to Google*. Basically the same as Facebook. Not interested. Probably because I don't trust total strangers on the internet.

Ask.fm
I've seen people giving links to this. I wouldn't use it personally; at least not right now because I have no need to but it seems all right.

Meetup
Reminds me a bit of a dating site. You meet people in the same area as you. I guess it has pros and cons.

MeetMe
Meeting people near you. Same as the last point.

ClassMates
Basically like a year book. Time to reunite with those people from school. I guess this would be helpful. 10 million people using it, that's nice.
Information from http://www.ebizmba.com

This got a bit boring so I'm adding a few that I use. Also the list ended.

YouTube
I am constantly using this. I got really obsessed with it earlier this year and now I've calmed down a bit but youtubers are like celebrities for me. Frankly it's a bit annoying that they feel so far out of reach but they still feel like friends over all. And of course my Instagram home page would show that I'm in love with them.

Fashiolista
Like its name it's a website based around the fashion items people love. But people "love" other things as well like puppies or furniture. And you can put things that you love on the site as well. I love this website and I have the app on my phone. It just makes me happy. If you want to follow me it's also kissmarshmellow. Makes things easier.

Wattpad
Everyone writing stories. Add stories to your library, write your own but be careful; there are some strange stories. You can also get some classics like Jane Eyre. On-line and apps. I feel like I'm advertising it. But it really is good.

Anyway that is it for now, thanks for reading!

How I plan an outfit + authors note at the end

How I choose an outfit depends on where I'm going and if they have a set dress code. Depending on the event then I decide what to wear, and I always pick 2 complete outfits because no matter how much I plan, it all depends on how I feel at the time of getting ready. Then when I'm already rushing AND have no idea what I'm wearing it can be a bit much.

I feel like most girls take long to get ready. Sometimes I can just throw on a favourite and go but other times I actually enjoy the planning process. I have the ability of trying on 5 different outfits in about 5 minutes but that's casual clothing choices. Formal events take a bit more planning to get ready for. Through the example of my church I will show you how I plan my outfit.

So first of all I check to see if I have any duties. I work with children so it's best to wear things that aren't that interesting or complicated. The last 2 times I wore eye liner I had a little girl ask me what was wrong with my eyes. Ah I can't wait for her to get into make-up. So if I'm working I wear jeans but if I don't have to work then the real planning begins. It all really depends on how I feel on the morning because I'm planning from the night before, maybe even 2 nights before, and church is early in the morning. From experience, I now know that I need to always have 2 outfits planned-the dressy and the casual-and it can get very complicated. Here's a typical plan:

The Dressy

Like its name this one starts off with a dress. Even though I always like my clothing choices to be appropriate some things just aren't quite right for church. Also I have some things that are a bit too formal. Like my black all sequin floor length skirt; it's more appropriate for a night time event. Even though I prefer darker clothing for night time events, my natural clothing choices are darker in comparison to some others. If the dress I pick isn't floor length then I might think of adding tights because my church is cold but most of the time I don't go with tights. So I picked the dress shown below:

It's a dark red high low hemmed dress from Xhilaration at Target but I got it last year (2013) so it's not available any more. So church is cold and I'll need a jacket so I'm going to wear my black leather jacket mostly because I live in a hot country and that's the only place I can wear it so I always usually wear it. Also shown below:

Black faux leather jacket bought second hand from Oxfam.org.uk/shop in 2012; great quality but the leather is starting to peel off (p.s. I'm looking for a new one close to that ^ one, if you know where I might be able to get one, let me know, thanks). So the next step is shoes. My guilty purchase. So when I'm wearing a dress I automatically go for heels and even though I am tall (5"8) I still go for the high heels. So I'm going to go with a pair of black heels to keep it simple because that's how my style tends to be; simply stunning. Here's what the shoes look like (except mine are peep toe):

I got my shoes at a store in America called ROSS. Great shoes for great prices (sounds like an advertisement); I bought 4 pairs of shoes from that store and all at once (I never do that). So I've got the dress, the jacket and the shoes. If I have time I'll think about painting my nails but I need to have at least 2 hours because my nail polish likes to take it's sweet time to dry. Let's pretend I do, so then I paint them black because I don't have gold nail polish and black goes with everything. Once my nails are dry I start thinking of make-up. I usually only focus on my eyes because I like to eat and drink so doing lipstick or lip-gloss would frustrate me no end. Also speaking from experience here. So do I want to do just mascara or just eye liner or both? And then what colour eye liner? (I always use eye shadow to blend my failed attempts at making my eye liner line straight). So I'll go with a light grey eye liner that doesn't need eye shadow (Even though I use the eye shadow to blend I don't like using eye shadow for day/ morning events other than weddings). And no mascara (I have long eye lashes already and only use mascara to really define them). Fun Fact I only use brown mascara because I find that the black mascaras don't look natural enough for my hair colour.

So I have the dark red high low dress, the black leather jacket, black peep toe shoes, light grey liner and now the fun (sarcasm) part; my HAIR. So when picking what to do with my hair is like putting on nail polish; how much time do I have? If I have 45 minutes to an hour I can try putting my hair into a bun. If I have no time I will spray water into my hair(if I haven't bathed) and spray on my de-frizz hair product, so I can brush it and go. But if I have enough as 10 minutes I braid my fringe and put it into a pony tail. Fun Fact if my bun fails I usually end up keeping it as a high pony tail. No jewellery.

Done with the dressy, time for the casual.

The casual. Also known as The I-Didn't-Plan

It always starts with jeans. Now which colour do I want. Red, blue, yellow, purple, dark grey. However I always tend to go with my super comfortable pale blue skinny jeans; probably because they are made with cotton not denim.

So sneakers, slip-ons or boots. I always go with my faux leather ankle boots; which are also starting to peel off. Inside those are my thick fuzzy socks because once again my church is cold.

Of course I'm going with my black leather jacket.

So I'll most likely go to pick up a random tee shirt but then actually think about it for maybe 5 seconds. So let's go with my dark grey tank top.

So I've got the top, jeans, jacket and shoes. The most I would do with my nails is cut them or maybe if they have chipped nail polish then I'll clean them off. Hair just gets brushed through; no water, no hair products. I might put it into a quick bun if I have the time. Either I'll put make-up on or I won't. Sometimes I want to though so I'll put on mascara and maybe if I'm really feeling it then I'll put on black eye liner with no eye shadow. For jewellery I wear a small silver heart necklace that I got from my sister and I wear it everyday if possible. I didn't wear it with my dressy look because I prefer gold jewellery with that dress and because it has a high neck line.

So now I have 2 different outfits ready for the next day that I know I'll feel comfortable in. For those that read this and just see me show up to church now you know that planning does go into it. Speaking of planning my outfit, I'm going out tonight so I'm ending now.

Authors note
So it turns out that I can't write every day or even every other day. So I'll be posting at least once a week for sure, I don't know what day because I don't have a set life. Maybe more than one post will come a week but there will always be one for sure. Thank you for those who read. I always try to put substance into my posts so I hope you enjoy reading.

Procrastination - My Thoughts and How To Deal With Them

Everyone does this, no matter how small and I have already done it because this is a day late (and almost 2 days late). I remembered at about 1 am last night and it was already too late by then. So people procrastinate about many things; big and small and sometimes they don't realize it's happening until it's already done. So here is a list of things that people procrastinate about and how I feel about them:

-Exercising. Right now I see no point in doing this because I used to but the environmental factors have shut that down, for example dogs getting out of their gate and attacking people. Fun.

-Cleaning /Tidying. I think the problem I have here is that I have too many things and too many attachments to those things. I mean I still have my Barbie dolls and tons of stuffed animals and although I hardly ever use them I still have them. But I am very organized and I like to see things being tidy and clean.

-Losing weight. Well this isn't something for me, I'm not really in this area.

-Investing /saving for the future. Oh yeah. Well I save my money in a jar and then when I want to buy something (a pair of shoes usually) I go in the jar and take out the money but that's only when I know I have the money. So my "saving for the future" is pretty short term at the moment. But when things come up and I need to buy something (basics) I have no money and because I'm still in high school my only income of money is from birthdays or Christmas. And it's especially hard when the basics are expensive.

-Projects. So you have to make a poster or an essay on something and you had 3 days but only did it on the day it was due or the 3rd day. I am in this position now but I planned to do it on the 3rd day because I had other things to do. Actually I planned to do it on the 2nd day but it got pushed back because I had to clean my whole bathroom.

Now comes why people procrastinate. So on line it says things like fear of failure, lack of focus, laziness, lack of motivation and quite a lot more. I saw one that said something along the lines of not knowing where to start and I guess that's why people plan out and organize what they need to do before they start doing it. I do my blog posts through-out the day so I'll start in the morning and just write a little bit more each time I go on my laptop (which is a lot). So it gives me something to think about during the day and when I sit down to write then I have something to say which has been brewing in my head for a while. So [hopefully] it makes sense and is more meaningful.
However when it comes to school work; well now I just don't remember anything, but I would constantly find things last minute that I needed to do for the next day or 3 days and it was horrible. But when I reach in school and it still isn't completed I'm not going to join the rest of the students who are rushing it down because I would rather take my punishment than have the stress of rushing it down and then lying as to why I didn't finish it (you can't write essays at the snap of a finger). So I don't know if anything good comes out of that but here are some ways to stop procrastination (I'll let you know if any work for me):

-Write a list of what you need to get done. Set yourself down and write out a detailed list of everything you need to get done for that day. Then put it somewhere you go a lot (for me it's my laptop background or the fridge) and remind yourself of the things that need to get done.

-Eliminate all distractions. Best thing is that my cell phone takes long to turn back on, so I just turn it off. So turn off your devices and put them in another room, maybe in a drawer but don't forget where they are.

-Food & Drink. Eat a proper meal before starting anything so you won't get hungry or have the need to snack. Keep a bottle/glass of water near you so if you feel thirsty you don't need to get up and go anywhere, just take a sip.

-Over thinking. Try to keep your random thoughts and imaginations in a locked box. If you get bored enough that staring at a blank wall is more exciting then take a 10 minute break and turn on music. Don't turn on a video or the TV because you will never get off. But remember to set an alarm; one of those horrible sounding ones or a regular sound like a dog barking or the phone ringing (it catches your attention).

-Self control. Without self control none of the above can work. Especially for the previous point. Because once that alarm has gone off you need to turn the music off and go back to work.

So procrastination is especially hard for me because I have my mind as a huge distraction and I can't turn that off or put it away somewhere. But it's part of growing up, you need to learn how to do these things. Try to make a habit out of it and if you really want to do something like stop procrastination then make a goal out of it. Reward yourself when you have accomplished a project. I'm gonna go eat chocolate because I finished this post. *woot woot*

Good Luck!

What I Blog For and A Bit About Me (Introduction)

Hello I'm Christy. I love dealing with clothes and shoes and fashion in general. I live in a Caribbean island called Trinidad [and Tobago]. I spend most of my free time searching Google for on-line movies and for the cheapest prices on fashion items I love. I'm new at blogging but I'll probably get the hang of it. Here is where I will be putting out my thoughts and opinions on various things (so fashion and lifestyle) and for anyone reading I would be happy to hear your views as well. I am generally open-minded but don't appreciate when people impose their views onto others. I will try to upload everyday or every other day.

For you to get a feel of what I am like and if you want to continue reading my blog I will start with my basic favourites.

Clothing

For the past few months I've been really loving lace dresses. Like black or red but not in a way that's trying to be provocative. More of an elegant style. I was previously thinking I could wear one to my grad (prom) party but I'm not going to that any more and I couldn't find anything that I liked in the stores here. But here are a few pictures of the styles I liked.

Make-up
Last summer I bought an EOS sweet mint lip balm just because I had seen them advertised and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I love it. It's the kind of product that when I see it again I want to buy about 5 but it lasts really long maybe it's because I don't use it every day but I think it's great anyway.

Jewellery
So I've been using my Instagram a lot recently and one of my favourite things to see are these small delicate looking rings. I love them so much (Get them at http://www.shoplouun.com/). The prices are a bit more expensive than I would usually buy so for now I just like staring at the pictures.

The other thing I've been loving are ear cuffs. I don't think I would get any myself (I'm content with just 2 holes) but I really like how some of them look. For example:

YouTube, Music & Movies
So I am admittedly obsessed with YouTube but even though I'm subscribed to tons of people I only look at some at a time, I don't know if that makes sense to you. Anyway the ones I have been looking at the most these days are Joey Graceffa, Zoella, Connor Franta, Lisbug, Lucas and Jenny, Shane Dawson, iisuperwomanii and Rebecca Black. More recently though I've been searching movies on line to watch and my current favourite is Pitch Perfect; I've been watching it endlessly and today during my exam I had literally all the songs going through my head. And from that movie I got one of my favourite songs of right now: Martin Solveig feat. Dev – We Came To Smash.

Food & Drink

Yesterday I made myself pancakes and had chocolate chips on top them with syrup and whipped cream. It was heaven. I would put a picture but it won't let me. I also have stopped drinking loads of coffee and I'm drinking a lot more hot chocolate. I drink a cup of hot chocolate almost every night before I go to bed. It's very calming.

Random Facts
I like to collect quirky or cute mugs (coffee/tea). I'm currently in high school (senior) and frankly I'm counting down the days till graduation. I don't mind school but I want to get on with doing the things I love. I wear mostly dark colours and pastel colours but I have a few bright things as well (no I'm not emo or punk or whatever; I'm just me). I am an animal person. I have a fear of spider WEBS and sharks eating me in my sleep. Please don't ask.

Nitey Nite or Good Morning,
I'll post either tomorrow or the day after,
